After a long lay off from not drawing, I needed to get back into the game. Motivated by a tour of Chelsea’s Art Galleries in NYC complete with an hour long speech by Edward Tufte at his gallery, I really wanted to do something to scratch that itch for drawing. There’s only so much abstract and deep thought sculpture one can witness in a single day.

A “Last Call” for all
I just figured out what I’m gonna do for the rest of my days. Draw!! Preferable for games and comics, but yeah that is the agenda. Fuck regular hourly jobs, fuck wasting time, and FUCK! no raise positions! I want to draw and I want to do it constantly, hell right now one arms typing the others drawing
Some days you draw too much
With nary a minute to spare on my quest to finish some school projects, I came up with this drawing for a faux rpg title. My eyeballs are burning as I type and I couldn’t wait to be finished with this project. Yet it really highlighted how the intense pressure leads to a person getting so focused on what s/he’s doing. Still, I’d rather not have my back to the wall every time I need to bang out some art. Try not to get into that habit. :-/
Back and soon to be in full effect!
It’s been a while but we are finally back and hopefully staying that way. Expect lots more content in the coming weeks including some more disconnected, some new excerpts we are adding in and of course a load of new posts about lots-O-cool stuff. Stick around! ;o)
Illustrator Astronauts
Illustrator is a very hard program to grasp at first but once you get rolling, you’ll start to make some really great things. I need much more practice and tutorials with this program but the results of my first fully illustrator image are decent I suppose. There’s still so much I would have done with this image if I were more capable with the program but as it stands, this is the extent of my current knowledge. Still the thought of an Illustrator Astronaut is kind of hilarious in a way…
I Got Yo’ NUTS!
‘Nuff said.
It’s Coming Along…
The best thing about the background so far is the nice metal wire tubing I made. Illustrator is really great for things like that but man to get a colored image the way you’d do it in a raster program like Photoshop or Painter is tough. Most of the time it’s you wrestling with the options you have in the program to do certain things. I’m amazed I got this far with it.
I have to do something about those monitors, they looks so fake compared to the rest of the image. Maybe I’ll just look up some tutorials on making vector machines and stuff.
