Now that L4D2 is right around the corner I thought I’d use my wizardly future predicting, comic drawing powers to make a comic about an undeniably accurate in-game future situation that will most definitely occur once the game is released and I’ve met with the chosen three (you know who you are =P). The plan is called “Hero!” and hopefully this plan will be successful over the course of many matches to come, for it is a very good plan,a sound strategy ….unless of course your the Hero..then your fucked =)
Thanks Valve, you always seem to do a good job finding ways to spend my precious time….and yes I totally mean that, you guys are awesome =)

As of last night I had officially caught up with my list of ” Show’s to watch on BBC and last show on that list was Blackpool. I’ve only watched three episodes and I’m crying inside because I’m also three episode away from the end. Blackpool, so far, is just a great show. David Morrisey is amazing, he’s got me singing shit I normally wouldn’t sing and psssh…I-love-to-sing . As for David Tennant, seriously, is there any roll this man can’t play, he’s fantastic. Anyways, I’ll be back to post my final thoughts on the show this weekend and hopefully a Blackpool illustration to assist it - Peace =)

Only time will tell...

Work in steps and in layers. Drawing is a process.
Hey all, Mel here from Estrigious doing a short tutorial on getting your ideas on paper. This tutorial won’t focus much on techniques of coloring, inking or drawing, but rather getting your own ideas, and practicing your own techniques on paper, or digitially on screen. Read more »

To celebrate the announcement of the new Fist of the North Star game from Koei, I hereby declare the new country of Tangelo… 2.o! And it’s new official flag. Just need to find the proper island to start this regime.

The ancients always knew...
A funny thing about predictions is that twenty years from now, either you were right and heralded as a scholar of all things smart or you were COMPLETELY wrong and some kids will make fun of you as they read your remarks online somewhere. The later being the most fun for the general audience to read about because it happens all the time from the weather man predicting rain last night to an entire nation picking the Cavaliers to play the Lakers in last season’s NBA Finals (and look how THAT turned out). Still, looking at trends can at least give a glimpse of what people think is coming and the web is not short in this list. Read more »
Are the most useful websites ONLY useful because they are ugly? I think that’s not always necessarily the case. Aesthetics versus practicality, it’s an age old argument. There’s always someone who will say “society can function without art” which is an extreme case but this is missing the entire point behind design and art in general. Design itself is based on communication and how to best communicate a message to the people who are looking at your product. The idea is to lead the audience with visual ques, graphic elements and yes even text. Read more »

I did this pic for my Twitter background. I wasn’t necessarily going to post it here but I liked the way it came out. This version is a bit more cleaned up so it took me a little more time to work on as apposed to the original which was just inked with no background , took me about 10-15 minutes to ink. I also have a colored version of Hadoukid which I might post…we’ll see.

Remember when we used layers during sketching?
After all the steps I’ve taken previously to get a colored image, we left off last time where I stared at a completed character coloring and just could not get it out of my head that something is totally wrong with the image. This is actually quite normal when it comes to illustration I think. There’s always that picture you’re working so hard on with an almost obsessive frame of mind, you HAVE to complete it. Just when you think everything is going well, you realize either by yourself or someone points out to you “This is awesome but…uh…hey…over here…”.
